Ways to integrate play therapy and sandplay therapy with children, youth, and adults in individual and group settings to address trauma, grief/loss, abuse, sibling relationships, family systems change and biopsychosocial issues. The workshop will describe how play therapy and sandplay therapy can be integrated with individuals, group, or families by using a variety of modalities. Case examples will be shared to demonstrate outcomes for individuals who completed therapy sessions. There will be opportunities for participants to practice using play therapy and sandplay therapy techniques in small group experiential learning activities. The elephant symbol will be present in the closing remarks.
About Amarjit:
In 2014, I started to integrate Play therapy and Sandplay therapy in my work with children, youth, and families in a variety of settings based on the clients biopsychosocial needs which includes traumatic life experience, abuse, neglect, parent-child attachment, family systems conflict/changes, grief/loss, sibling relationships, etc. I am currently working on Certification for Play Therapy and Sandplay Therapy. When an individual is given an opportunity to experience themselves in a safe, protected space, they can transform a new beginning. The play therapy-room provides a miniature world for the individual to interact through sand play and various other activities (art, floor play, puppets, role play, and games) in developing a common language between the individual and therapist to address the presenting issue(s). I enjoy trying new things and love seeing peoples pets like snakes, iguanas, lizards, cats, dogs, bunnies, and pot belly pigs.
